Community-Focused Family Law Firm

Robin T. Wernik is serving as a Municipal Court Judge in Neptune Township and has former experience serving as a public defender in Neptune Township. Ms. Wernik also serves as a volunteer Early Settlement Panelist with other experienced attorneys making recommendations on divorce cases in Monmouth County to facilitate settlement. She was appointed to the New Jersey Task Force on Lesbian and Gay Issues in 1998. From 1993 to 1997, she was an adjunct instructor at Brookdale Community College, teaching business law, constitutional law and estate law. Ms. Wernik's commitment to the community is an indicator of the dedication and commitment she provides to her clients in family law matters.

Awards and Recognition

Ms. Wernik was named one of the "40 under 40" Lawyers by the New Jersey Law Journal on August 26, 2002. In addition, family law and criminal defense attorney David Salvatore was named a Rising Star in New Jersey Super Lawyers in 2006.

Awards that Robin T. Wernik has received include Outstanding Service to the Women's Center of Monmouth County for the Neptune Domestic Violence Reduction Program in 1998. In 1999, she received the Personal Liberty Fund Achievement Award.

Experienced in Custody and Visitation Cases

National recognition came to Ms. Wernik in 2000 following a successful custody case involving psychological parenthood before the New Jersey Supreme Court. In the case of V.C. v. M.J.B. 163 N.J.200, the Justices ruled that third parties living in familial circumstances with a child and his or her biological parent may achieve a "psychological parent" status with the consent of the biological parent. Ms. Wernik's client was a non-biological parent seeking visitation rights with her ex-partner's child born during the relationship. Her client was subsequently awarded visitation rights.
